Founder & Chief Instructor - Bill Owen

Mr. Bill Owen is a Jacksonville, Florida native who is widely considered the world’s leading expert in military drill & ceremonies training for both drill teams and Honor Guards. His talented and unique approach has been used to train tens of thousands and trainees, not only in the United States, but also internationally at the request of foreign governments to revamp or form their national ceremonial drill units and honor guards.  Bill is also a subject matter expert (SME) for military, police, fire, EMS, and other Honor Guard units worldwide.  In the United States, he has trained the US Army Drill Team (The Old Guard), as well as members of the US Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon and the US Navy Ceremonial Honor Guard.  Mr. Owen has judged National, International, and World Drill Championship competitions. 

 

It is his well-rounded, scientific, and unique perspective that forms the skeleton of all of Competitive Outcomes’ techniques and strategies.  Bill’s work has directly contributed to well over 50 National, International, and World Championships, an achievement that is unparalleled. To date Bill has traveled to 49 states, 14 countries, teach both drill & ceremonies and Honor Guard procedures. He has coordinated ceremonies for two sitting US Presidents and is the SME for multiple federal agencies. 

 

The lessons that drill & ceremony teach as well as the mission of the Honor Guard are things that Mr. Owen truly believes in. He has said time and time again that they shaped him into the man he is today.  Training others in this skills and seeing their progress is his true passion.

 

Mr. Owen has earned degrees from the University of North Florida, the University of Central Florida, and the Federal Emergency Management Institute.

Senior Trainer - Tommy Anderson

Mr. Tommy Anderson is a Texas Native and Marine Corps veteran that has been training units with Competitive Outcomes for the last 5 years.  Tommy was an all-american JROTC Cadet that was undefeated at the State Championship , Navy Nationals, and All-Service Nationals during his time at Flour Bluff High School.  

Since leaving the Marine Corps, Tommy has been instrumental in guiding teams to championships and honor guards to new heights of perfection. 

Mr. Anderson is an alumni of the University of Oklahoma and is working toward an astrobiology degree from American Military University. 

**Additionally we also employ several part-time trainers all with National Championship/Subject Matter Expert (SME) background to assist with our training missions.**
